Andrii Pavlov is a Ukrainian violinist with an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue.
As a soloist, he has collaborated with orchestras and ensembles including the ÖRF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Lviv Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Black Page Orchestra Wien, Kyiv Camerata, Tbilisi State Opera Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine. He has performed under the batons of conductors such as Duncan Ward, Nikoloz Rachveli, Theodore Kuchar, Gudni A. Emilsson, and Volodymyr Sirenko.
Andrii Pavlov has been invited as both a soloist and chamber musician to the festivals Septembre Musical Montreux-Vevey, Klangwerkstatt Berliner, MonteLeon Chamber Music Festival, Musikprotokoll Graz, Zurich Music Festival, Lugano Music Festival, and many others.
For over a decade, his duo partner has been the Ukrainian pianist Valeriia Shulga. Their ensemble, Duo Sonoro, is a prizewinner of several international competitions, including the Johannes Brahms International Competition (Austria, 2015) and Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition (Italy, 2016).
Andrii is a founding member of the NotaBene Chamber Group, an ensemble based in Kyiv that performs actively in Ukraine, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Germany.
His current positions include Artist of the National House of Music of Ukraine, Artist of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, and a teaching appointment at the Reinhold Gliere Academy of Music in Kyiv.
In 2017, Andrii Pavlov was awarded the Levko Revutsky Prize by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
Born in Kyiv into a family of musicians, he began his violin studies under the guidance of his mother, Viktoriia Pavlova. Andrii received his Master’s degree from the National Academy of Music in Kyiv (class of Prof. Vadym Kozin). Further studies with Gyorgy Pauk, Andrej Bielow, Marc Danel, Philip Setzer, Johannes Meissl, and Hatto Beyerle significantly influenced his professional development.
